I specialise in writing plays based on the life experiences of the people and groups I am working with; whether through devising and improvising with drama groups and youth theatres or by hearing people’s stories and experiences and turning them into performance.

My show “sweetie” with fellow actor Gaynor Chilvers was presented at Degenerate II at the  Theatre Workshop, Edinburgh Fringe Festival and a revised version in association with the Schools Company at the West Yorkshire Playhouse, which toured high schools in Leeds.

I recently wrote a version of a classic Irish song as an ‘executive summary’ of a project I was running with older Irish people.
