I make theatre with young people and community groups, originally in Leeds and the North of England but I am now based in Fife, Scotland. I have worked in Edinburgh for Garvald Edinburgh and for Fife Youth Theatre, I am currently proudly working in North Lanarkshire developing community based drama groups.

I had regular employment with Leeds City Council to work with adults with physical and sensory impairments. Our work reflected our experience of life; Our shows were not always about disability but it were always informed by it.  We aimed to inform, inspire and entertain. By lifting the barriers to participation, we raise the bar.  Full Stop.

I ran Youth Theatres in Leeds for a small local charity (Youth Theatres Leeds) for 11 years. We worked together to hone our theatre skills and create performances for community and professional theatre venues. Through theatre we raise our confidence, self-esteem and aspirations.

I worked for Open Minds Theatre Company In Rotherham running the Company for Adults With Learning Disabilities- LifeAct. LifeAct meets weekly to build our skills for performance and for life. We pride ourselves on our professionalism and inclusivity. Life is not a rehearsal we have to act now!

I ran after school drama clubs in Leeds and have taken on commissions to devise work for specific events across the region.

I specialise in devising theatre based on people’s experiences and aspirations. Together we are better.

“the theatre itself is not revolutionary: it is a rehearsal for the revolution.” Boal
